New block of flats planned in Woolwich…sort of
Plans are in for a housing block on Artillery Place in Woolwich. It’s not a new scheme as a previous plan was approved two years ago but Bellway are now behind the revised scheme.
The previous plan was for 52 flats which was covered here. This has now risen to 68. The site was formerly a car dealership site opposite the barracks.
Here’s how it looks now:
The planning reference is 17/2546/F
The architects behind this scheme are Greenwich-based BPTW. Plans to demolish their former office at Norman Road in Greenwich and replacement with a block of flats was approved at this month’s Greenwich Council Planning Board meeting.

The new development on this site looks good, Like any new development it is how the residents look after and maintain the properties once they move in, The area is in need of regeneration. It is better to see empty buildings and commercial land being redeveloped rather than being buildings left empty or commercial land not used,
