Thamesmead pub the Princess Alice has leasehold for sale

Anyone got a few quid? How does a carvery pub sound as an investment? if tempted, the leasehold of Thamesmead pub the Princess Alice is available for £825,000 plus VAT.

The pub is located opposite Belmarsh Prison and Woolwich Crown Court.

Berkeley Homes and Peabody plan 1,800 new homes a short walk away near Plumstead bus garage.

The pub is named after the 1878 sinking of the SS Princess Alice paddle steamer in the Thames, which killed over 650 people at a point just off what is now Thamesmead. 120 people were buried in a mass grave at King’s Highway in Plumstead.

The pub opened around 10-15 years ago and has had an up and down life.

In the past year 66 flats have been built alongside at a development named “The Reach”.

Peabody are behind the scheme. It sees the only new homes built across Thamesmead’s Housing Zones announced almost four years ago. Progress has been painfully slow despite the dire need for housing in London.

An open viewing of the pub as been arranged for Tuesday 9th October from 10am – 11am
