Canary Wharf open-air dock swimming returns this summer

Swimming in Canary Wharf’s Middle Dock is returning this summer as major work continues on transforming the area.

Middle Dock is in the process of major changes that will see a new bridge and public spaces in front of the Jubilee line station.

Preparatory work underway

Before that completes swimming is possible (and will be available post-completion).

Opening times for a dip this summer are:

  • Mondays: 16:00 – 20:00
  • Thursdays: 17:30 – 20:30
  • Fridays: 07:00 – 09:00
  • Saturdays: 13:30 – 16:30

To swim in the dock you’ll need to purchase a NOWCA membership for £15 per year with  sessions costing £9 per swim, or take part in regular free events offered to NOWCA members.

More information can be found here.

A forthcoming post will look at how the overall middle dock work is shaping up.

Running a site alone takes time and a fair bit of money. Adverts are far from enough to cover it and my living costs as a private renter.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
