New block of flats planned near Woolwich Barracks

Plans have been submitted for 32 new homes at 1-3 Hillreach in Woolwich almost opposite the entrance to Woolwich Barracks.

The site is currently the Abbey Autos MOT centre and the new block will top out at five-floors high. A long-dead pub, the Village Blacksmith, is located directly one side.

Images of the proposal are thin on the ground. The image above is about as good as it gets.

On the other is the Kings Arms pub which recently saw plans submitted to demolish and rebuild with 19 flats.

A few hundred metres east there is a plan to build to build 68 flats at a former car dealership. This scheme has been knocking around for a couple of years at least but Bellway have now purchased the site and installed hoardings so it looks like moving ahead.

The planning reference of the latest 32-home scheme is 17/2558/F
