It’s Plumstead Make Merry day!

Plumstead’s largest community festival kicks off right about now as the Make Merry brings a varied number of attractions to Plumstead Common from 12-6 pm.

The festival is a long standing community event which has managed to survive through dedicated hard work of those behind the scenes.

Stepz dance will be appearing

You can see today’s line up of events here.

There’s an acoustic cafe, bandstand, many food stalls, a tent with various classes and other attractions dotted about.

The tent is offering events such as:

Djembe drumming will be running a session where you can come along and play some drums. Suitable for all ages, no experience necessary, and if you want to, you can take part in a performance in the Acoustic Cafe afterwards!

And the sun’s come out for it. Rain looked possible earlier in the week but the forecast is now for warm sunshine all day.

When you’re there donate a quid or two if you can. The organisers work incredibly hard year-round to put this event on.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here
