Erith Hospital expansion planned with mental health services and larger car park

Erith and District Hospital has expansion plans which see additional services provided on site from 2019.

The site is nestled away and currently houses an Urgent Care Centre (a sort of watered down A&E) and X-Ray centre.

The hospital is notable for having an X-Ray Department located in a Grade II bunker dating from just before World War II.

As part of expansion plans, children and adolescent mental heath facilities will be built. Alongside new buildings will be a larger car park.

According to planning documents:

By mid-2019, the site is expected to have 162 medical staff and 53 support staff utilising 42 consulting rooms to serve the community and it is felt that the existing 72 car parking spaces will not be sufficient to support the operation of the site and its services.

The Planning Reference is 18/01332/FUL

You can support the site through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • Hey Murky!

I know I’m commenting on a really old post, but by any chance have any concept photos been around?
