12 people in hospital after emergency services descend on Abbey Wood Sainsbury’s

Numerous police cars, ambulances and Fire Brigade trucks raced to flats beside Abbey Wood Sainsury’s after a suspected “chemical” incident this morning.

It is believed to have occurred around 5am at flats beside Sainsbury’s supermarket.

Incident response vehicles were amongst those that arrived and were seen parked up along Harrow Manorway.

We await word from the emergency services on what the exact cause is. One suggestion is cleaning products somehow made people sick.

UPDATE: Up to 12 people are reported to be in hospital.
