Erith collision sees 60 year old cyclist die. Driver didn’t stop.

A 60 year old cyclist has died on Bronze Age Way in Erith this morning in a hit and run.

The incident happened around 4:30am with the cyclist pronounced dead three hours later at 7:30am.

The driver did not stop and is wanted. The road is expected to be closed all morning.

Traffic police

Last month London Mayor Sadiq Khan announced 122 traffic police would be moved to deal with rising street crime.

Yet that leaves illegal drivers at less risk of checks.

The Met Police’s Serious Collison Investigation unit are on scene and dealing with the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information can call 101 quoting reference 844/8OCT.
