Cyclist killed in Erith crash named as local Thamesmead man
A man from Thamesmead who run a Twitter account highlighting local issues has been named as the victim of last weeks crash in Erith.
Brian Barnett, 60 from Duxford Road in Thamesmead, was cycling on Bronze Age Way when hit by a lorry which didn’t stop. The lorry was later found in Swanley and a man arrested. However police are now seeking witnesses.
Barnett had tweeted regularly about cyclists and dangers, including this retweet just a day before his own crash regarding a cyclist death in Deptford.

The crash occurred at 4:35am on Monday 8th October. Despite the efforts of paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:27am.
The lorry was found at 6:10am in London Road, Swanley.
