Man suffers broken leg on Southeastern train in attack

A passenger was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken leg after an attack on a Southeastern train on Friday evening.

The victim had asked another passenger to stop behaving in an anti-social manner before the assault, which caused the train from London Bridge to Gravesend via New Eltham, Sidcup and Crayford to terminate at Dartford.

The train was the London Bridge to Gravesend which was supposed to leave London Bridge at 19:41, yet was delayed and left at 19:58. It started at London Bridge due to earlier issues.

DS Allan McTaggart said: “I’d appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or believes they may have information to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

This was a particularly nasty assault and one we are taking extremely seriously.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference 26 of 17/11/18.
