Woman attacked with machete near Charlton Marks & Spencer

A woman in her 50s has been attacked tonight by a man with a machete on Rathmore Road in Charlton.

Police were called at 7:18pm. The suspect ran towards Woolwich Road where the Marks & Spencer and Costa stores are located.



The attacker is not known to the victim, who does not have life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as “an Asian man, aged in his 30s, of heavy build. He may be wearing a tanned jacket”.

A man ran from Rathmore Road onto Woolwich Road after 7pm
