Southeastern stations nominated for step free access

Twenty two stations across the Southeastern network have today been nominated for step free access.

South East London stations on the Dartford lines listed are Sidcup, Kidbrooke, Falconwood, Erith and Albany Park.

There has been a long campaign to have step free access as Erith.

Kidbrooke is a bit odd as it’s being rebuilt alongsode new towers and a new bridge was already included in plans. Perhaps they were previously dependent on this funding.

Nominated stations now go to the Department for Transport for approval.

The full list is:

• Albany Park, south east London

• Battle, East Sussex

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

  • Struggle to understand why Hither green is not in this list. Are they planning something bigger?

  • Hi, please confirm source. I understand Hither Green received the most votes and is in fact on the shortlist. Need to clear this up. Thank you.

  • Good this is being done but hope other rail lines follow suit, as had a nightmare journey last weekend. 7hrs instead of 2 as elephant and castle was not accessible on my mobility scooter.
