Man dies in Thamesmead building fire this morning

A man has died after a fatal fire at a flat in Thamesmead this morning.

Four fire engines and 25 fire fighters were called at 6:04am to the blaze on Goldcrest Close, which saw one man and two women escape from neighbouring flats.

Goldcrest Close is near John Robinson school and Manorway Green.

It’s the second flat fire in a week in the town after a blaze hit a 1960s block last week.
