Dartford crossing bridge closed due to high winds

Expect a fair of traffic around Greenwich today as the Dartford crossing bridge has been closed due to gusts up to 60 mph. And it will last quite some time if forecasts are correct.

At least six hours of high winds are forecast meaning southbound traffic is diverted into one tunnel halving capacity both north and southbound.

Blackwall approach traffic

That normally sends much traffic to Greenwich – where the Big Vitality half marathon is also closing streets.

Strong winds are also having an impact there with a music stage being cancelled.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
