Rotherhithe Tunnel closed – heavy traffic in Greenwich

The Rotherhithe Tunnel has been closed for emergency work this afternoon leading to heavy traffic in Greenwich.

An accident near the Blackwall Tunnel has compounded problems with queues on Trafalgar Road, Woolwich Road and Blackwall Lane.

UPDATE: The tunnel has just reopened at 5;20 pm with long tails across the area.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here

  • I live near the tunnel and it’s just getting worse. The only way you can get home at times is to risk a fine and use the bus lane on blackwall lane just so you can actually get home without sitting in tunnel traffic for 45 minutes…

    • I know, I use bus lanes all the time.

That said, I’m on a bike, so it’s legal.
