Emergency roadworks cause Lewisham gridlock

Traffic is very heavy going across Lewisham tonight as emergency Thames Water works are in place.

There is currently no estimate as to when the water leak will be fixed.

Traffic is currently backed up along Loampit Vale almost to New Cross. Lewisham High Street is also slow going as far as Catford.

  • That’s what is was. I live just off the town centre and wondered why the traffic was so heavy as I made by way to Tesco’s.

  • Pathetic work by Thames Water. This is the same place they dug up a couple of months ago causing similar chaos. Looks like they botched it and are having to do it again.

  • The traffic is still slow today for those using Lewisham Vale.
