Three charged after Welling disorder
The CPS have charged three people after disorder in the centre of Welling on Friday night saw riot police deployed.
According to Bexley Police, those charged include:
- A 16-year-old female from Dagenham has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker, racially aggravated common assault and a racially aggravated offence under Section 4a of the Public Order Act.
- A 17-year-old female from Lambeth has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
- A 15-year-old male from Lambeth has been charged with a racially aggravated offence under Section 4a of the Public Order Act.
All will appear at Bexley Magistrates Court on Friday 16th August.

A 17-year-old boy from Leytonstone arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker has been released under investigation, pending further enquires.
Hopefully if found guilty, the courts will give them a harsh sentance to send a clear message to others!
Unfortunately our justice system gives the appearence of being weak, which just emboldens potential trouble-makers thinking that they won’t face the consequences.
We really need a zero tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour so it doesn’t lead to more serious crimes.
Maybe i’m becoming old, but there seems to be very little respect and though for others these days
our justice system is a joke all they will is a smack on the wrist and sent home to mummy and mummy will not do anything to them
So some of culprits were not even from local. So they must travel around other areas with the sole aim of causing harm and trouble. Just like football hooligans do,
