Track problems to disrupt evening rush hour on Southeastern network

A track issue around New Cross has resulted in a speed restriction being imposed and consequent disruption to some rush hour services.

Some live departure rail websites are currently down to compound the issue.

The restriction has been adding around 10 minutes onto journey times over the past 20 minutes. That could compound and spiral into further delays. It may not though. One thing the new London bridge does is permit more tracks and platform to lessen the scale of disruption when things go wrong.

5:30 pm update: It appears delays are increasing and the speed restrictions are adding around 20 minutes onto some journeys. The Woolwich line is the least affected as many trains run via Greenwich and avoid New Cross.
