Police operation at Woolwich Arsenal station sees seven arrests

British Transport Police and the Met have today carried out an operation including the installation of knife arches at Woolwich Arsenal DLR and Southeastern rail station.

Passengers have been checked at all exits at the station with around 10 officers in attendance. Seven arrests were made for “possession of pointed or bladed articles, theft, fraud, failure to appear at court and breach of court orders”.

Plain clothes officers were also in attendance alongside Southeastern staff.

It follows similar action at Plumstead station in recent weeks.

That saw a large amount of people found without tickets and a number of arrests.
