Serious incident on bus near Plumstead station

An assault is reported to have occurred this morning on a bus near Plumstead station.

Numerous emergency service vehicles are on scene. Some witnesses report an assault on the bus with the suspect escaping.

Police state the incident occurred just after 7am on a 472 bus heading towards North Greenwich. No arrests have been made and there is no word as yet on the victim’s condition.

  • It is interesting that you have used the proposed (rather than existing) foot bridge to illustrate your article, as residents have highlighted concerns about security issues within an enclosed bridge and stairs.

  • My understanding his from staff at Plumstead Bus Garage is that some someone was stabbed. If he was already on the bus when the stabbing occurred or got on the bus for help I do not know.

    All I know is this is another needless and senseless crime on the streets of London which needs to stop,
