House fire in Woolwich – road closures in area

Eight fire engines & around 60 firefighters have been tackling a house fire on Crescent Road in Woolwich tonight.

According to the London Fire Brigade:

“Part of the first floor and half of the roof is alight was damaged by fire



A man left the property before the Brigade arrived. He was suffering from smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade was called at 1833 and the fire was under control by 2028. Fire crews from Plumstead and surrounding fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
