Storm Dennis: Flooding at Danson A2 interchange & supermarket

After more than 12 hours of torrential rain flooding is beginning to appear in more places.

TfL have stated that the A2 has started to flood and warns drivers:

“The East Rochester Way (DA5) between the Black Prince Interchange and the Danson Interchange. The road is obstructed westbound due to flooding. Approach with caution.”

Meanwhile the car park at Asda in Belvedere is turning into a lake.

With hours more rainfall to come more flooding is likely on saturated ground. It remains to be seen the impact on work to shore up the railway embankment at Barnehurst. The Bexleyheath line is closed all week for work.

I’ll update the page with any more info throughout the day.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
