Explosion at Erith industrial site: three injured

An explosion has occured at an industrial site in Erith this morning.

London Fire Brigade have stated in the past few minutes that six fire engines and 40 firefighters are at the scene. They state:

“Three people suffering from burns have been treated by London Ambulance Service and have been taken to hospital.

The Brigade’s 999 Control centre has received 21 calls alerting them to the blaze.

The Brigade was called at 0913 and is still at the scene. Fire crews from Erith, Wennington, Bexley, Plumstead and East Greenwich fire stations.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.”

The site is located at Conway beside the Thames and Church Manorway. An ambulance was visible overhead.
