Man dies after Crayford attack

A man has died in hospital after being found unresponsive yesterday following reports of an assault in Crayford town centre.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 4:18 pm on Friday 19 June to The Parade in Crayford – which is an area of parkland around a river in the town centre.

A 41 year old man was taken by air ambulance and died this afternoon (20 June)

Police state:

“His family were present and are being supported by specialist officers.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday, 20 June. He remains in custody.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 5028/19June.”
