Trains halted at Eltham as passenger jumps on track to collect money

Trains were halted through Eltham earlier this evening after a passenger jumped onto tracks to pick up some money.

An approaching driver had to be relieved due to the stress of almost hitting the passenger.

According to Southeastern: “The trespasser on the line at Eltham had apparently gone on to the tracks to retrieve some cash.

This has caused distress to our driver so we’re arranging for relief for them to move the train.

Trains can’t run on the Bexleyheath Line towards Barnehurst”.

  • That trespasser must be mentally unbalanced and is in need of psychiatric assessment. The poor driver may never recover.
