Track fire at Charing Cross delaying trains

A fire 200 metres from platforms on a rail bridge over the Thames has caused delays this morning.

Platforms 1-3 at Charing Cross are out of action leaving 4-6 operational. 1-3 mainly service Metro suburban routes while 4-6 generally serve longer distance services.

Network Rail state it may take some time to rectify given damage to track systems.

Yesterday the same bridge was closed and saw a controlled explosion due to a suspicious package. There are no apparent links at this stage.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks
