Covid drive-in test centre adding to Catford traffic jams

A drive-in centre testing for covid-19 has been causing traffic congestion today in Catford alongside a nearby burst water main.

Yep, in a city where traffic levels have already risen sharply a drive-through test centre is causing tailbacks due to insufficient space. Applause all round.

Many people are finding they cannot get tested after waiting for long periods of time.

On a wider level traffic is again extremely heavy across most of south east London today. Numbers of people driving nationwide is seeing a sharp uptick – and yet only 60 per cent are back to regular work.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • and unfortunately the people setting up the Test Centre would have no interest in any traffic issues
