Housing block proposed in Dartford at major growth area north of station

Plans are in for a new block of flats in Dartford just north of the station in an area seeing hundreds of new homes.

This particular block – located at 114 – 130 Lower Hythe Street – is quite modest and is located across from Langley Square, which I covered last year. The area has seen 1,500 homes either completed in recent years or now being built.

The developer at the latest proposed block is Skillcrown, who also submitted an application this week for new flats in Eltham.

According to plans “the site is currently partially vacant and partially used by
an engineering business”.

Immediately beside the site is a gasholder offering an insight into the industrial nature of this area, which still hangs on in places despite large levels of housebuilding. With many others recently coming down how long will the gasholder remain?

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
