Bexleyheath man charged with Mottingham pensioner murder

Police have tonight charged a 23 year old man from Bexleyheath after a 74 year old was stabbed in Mottingham yesterday.

According to police, Ben Oliver, 23, of Lion Road, Bexleyheath was charged with the murder of 74-year-old David Oliver. He will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 21 January.

Police were called yesterday just before midday by paramedics in Mottingham.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:25pm.

  • Now that we know the suspect as been identified as a family member rather than a ramdon attack on a stranger in their home. This will help to put the minds at rest for other elderly residents in the area.
