Vehicle fire blocks A2 at Eltham

The A2 towards Kent has been blocked this evening due to a vehicle fire near Falconwood.

The fire brigade have blocked the road near the Falconwood turn-off with queues extending back through Eltham towards Kidbrooke.

Road closures begun after 7pm. Avoid the area if possible.

7:45 PM Update: The road appears to be reopening with a couple of miles of queuing traffic now beginning to move.
