Greenwich eco park break-in: Appeal launched

An appeal has been launched after a break in damaged areas of Greenwich Ecological Park.

The site on Greenwich Peninsula saw a burglary over the Easter weekend. Tool storage containers were damaged, with the appeal stating: “The burglars caused significant damage to the volunteer toolshed and wellie boot storage containers, some of which will have to be completely replaced.  We are raising money for the FRIENDS OF GREENWICH PENINSULA ECOLOGY PARK to buy 3 new secure metal tool containers as well as extra willow fencing to block a weak point of entry into the nature reserve in one corner.

Every donation will help us and is so much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the staff, volunteers and the local community.”

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
