KFC coming to Plumstead High Street
If, like me, you’ve walked down Plumstead High Street passing Chick Chicken, Morley’s and DFC and thought just what this town needs is a chicken shop then you’re in luck.
The Colonel is coming.
A branch of KFC is set to open in what was the Surprise kebab shop. A name that always raised a smile.
KFC can be a fair bit more expensive than other cheaper chicken takeaways. I’m not sure how much passing footfall they will attract given the options, though takeaway could be the real aim.
Just Eat delivery drivers are sure to follow. Not the best in a congested area which is pretty much always slow going.
The colonel is clearly on manoeuvres, as a new branch is also on the cards in Woolwich.
Lucky Plumstead, they can now look forward to the street litter we get here from the KFC across the road in Trafalgar Road. So bad that once I collected some and took it back to the shop, they didn’t quite know how to react! Litter from Chicken shops in general is a big problem. Greasy pavements another as outside central London they are ‘never’ washed down by councils. Aside from the fact they all use factory farmed chicken, no matter how they gloss up their product. Be interesting to see how many would still frequent these places if they paid a visit to one of these giant so called farms. Its extremely sad to see any animal treated as they are, both in their short lives and at the point of execution to feed the fast food obesity crisis. What a world we live in.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse.
More negative news for the embarrassing unregulated eyesore dump that is Plumstead High Street.
You cannot blame any business for simply embarking on an opportunity in money making.
You can, however be critical of the causes of this negative development – the property owner renting out their premises KFC, the council licencing so many fast food shops, and any moron eating this vile-putrid-as-food.
Well I don’t mind a zinger tower, however given the rotten state of buildings there not sure I’d want to use them.
Upstairs on that building looks very badly maintained – and next door was infested with pigeons.
