Outside seating planned at new Greenwich restaurant
Developer and owner of much Greenwich peninsula land Knight Dragon have applied for an outside seating area in advance of a new restaurant.
There are two buildings, with the other currently comprised of the Now Gallery, marketing area and café.
A canopy linking the two buildings will provide shelter.
The site is in the shadow of the forthcoming Design District – covered here – which is set to complete later this year.
As for the new restaurant, Knight Dragon’s application states: “It is anticipated that a new restaurant tenant will soon be occupying the existing unit (Use Class E). In order to enhance their trading potential and to assist in providing a Covid-19 secure environment, the creation of an external dining terrace is proposed.”
I’ll keep an eye out to see what that restaurant will be.
For a design district it deserves to be an Indie, (Indie not Indian) but u can bet your bottom dollar it won’t be, it’ll be a chain and poss branded as a TV chef if they haven’t all gone bust yet. Just gotta hope its not a BK, McD or KFC. The new Roxburger restaurant along the front of River Gardens Greenwich (which u covered back in May Murky) is now open for biz. I saw them open the other night for done in burgers (sorry, dine in haha!) and take out. Anybody tried them yet?
is this https://santocafeandbar.com/ which is already open and with outside seating, behind some nice green screens?
It could be. I havnt been in a while. It doesn’t say retrospective in the planning app. Will take another look in the morning.
