Man stabbed to death in Greenwich town centre

A man has died after a stabbing in Greenwich last night around 1am near the Cutty Sark.

The incident occurred on Welland Street, which runs from Cutty Sark Gardens and a car park entrance beside the garden, around the rear of Wetherspoons towards Creek Road.

Police state they “were called by LAS at 01.06hrs to reports of a man stabbed.

The victim was pronounced dead at 2:37am.

Arrest

Another man was found stabbed:

“Officers attended and located a 30-year-old man in Welland Street suffering from stab injuries.”

“He was taken to hospital, though his condition is not thought to be life-threatening. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder.”

Any witnesses or those who have information that could help police are urged to call 101 ref CAD 354/30 July.
