Blackheath tea hut returns after 2020 car crash

Blackheath’s famous tea hut has returned today after being wiped out when hit by a car in January 2020.

A Mercedes ploughed into the hut injuring a staff member, which forced closure.

Now, over 18 months later and it’s back to serve all day tea, coffee and food.

There was talk about them moving to a disused toilet block nearby – though that clearly appears not to have progressed.

The new hut has been moved back from the road.
