Man pleads guilty after woman found dead in Eltham

A man has pleaded guilty after a 39 year old woman was found dead in Eltham last October.

Ricky Woodford, aged 42, was in the dock after Sarah Smith, 39 was attacked at Henwick Road, Eltham on 30th October 2020.

Woodford initially denied guilt but changed his plea and admitted manslaughter by diminished responsibility.

Judge Alexia Durran remanded Woodford into custody to await sentencing on 11th November.

The victim was discovered by police and paramedics sufferings fatal head injuries at the home she shared with Woodford.

Prosecutor Oliver Glasgow QC accepted diminished responsibility after a report on his mental health and talks with the family of the victim.
