Pedestrian hit by bus near Woolwich Arsenal station

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after being hit by a bus on Vincent Road this morning (Saturday 11th September).

The incident occurred at 10:30 am near Woolwich Arsenal station.

The road has been closed and some buses are on diversion.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area by police and TfL.

  • Saw the aftermath of this. Hope the woman involved is able to make a full recovery. Looked to have been hit by a 291 turning into Vincent Road.

    That junction always seems a bit dangerous with the ramp making it seem like pedestrians have priority and people often crossing without looking. It could maybe do being a zebra crossing just to make sure pedestrians have priority, especially as there are two zebra crossings metres away on Woolwich New Road.

    Ended up with one ambulance, half a dozen police cars and an air ambulance circling overhead with it looking like it couldn’t land because of an event being set up at the big screen.
