Southeastern disruption on second day after derailment
There are no services again today on the line through New Eltham after attempts to move a derailed train in time for services today was unsuccessful.
Network Rail had hoped to lift the freight train back onto the tracks in time for services today.
They state that soft ground hampered recovery.
⚠️We’re sorry to say that despite our best efforts the derailed loco remains at #Lee, blocking the @Se_Railway Sidcup line this morning. The rescue team encountered serious problems last night with soft ground as it wasn’t solid enough to provide a stable base for the jack. /1 pic.twitter.com/mvDF3PFMH8

The train came off the tracks at points between Lee and Hither Green stations.
A shuttle train is in operation by Southeastern from Sidcup to Dartford.
