Consultation on new Abbey Wood Post Office
The Post Office is consulting on a new Post Office in Abbey Wood beside Sainsbury’s.
I’d covered plans earlier this year though all we had to go on was a couple of drawings in a planning app. Now the Post Office themselves have confirmed intentions.
The former Crown Post Office closed in recent years.
The site saw approval for homes and commercial units – but nothing has happened.
It was then put up for sale.
Over the road the former site of the Harrow Inn pub also still lies vacant.
Another Peabody site where they seem in no hurry to do anything.
Peabody are notoriously slow – and are involved in yet another merger to add to the collection over the past 10 years.
Yet more issues to distract the management away from actually providing new homes.
