I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • That is terrible. A handful of racist certainly do not speak for me and I am sure they do not speak for the majority of decent local people in the Borough. There is always someone going out with the sole aim of causing trouble somewhere.

  • Considering it’s members of the far-right promoting ethnonationalism it’s fairly safe to categorise it as racist; anything else would be pure deflection.

  • Then there’s the timing; considering the day before one of the founders of racist, anti-Semitic neo-Nazi organisation was convicted under the terrorism act.

  • Considering the U.K is over 80% white ethnic British there’s no existential threat at play. As far as the language used: it’s intended to incite racial hatred; that’s why the police are involved.

  • Peoples of colour have been in Britain since the Romans. Whiteness is a construct and easily undermined by the discovery that an ancestor was, say, Chinese. In any event, we are all ‘out of Africa’.
