The Dartford crossing bridge has been closed in the last 30 minutes due to increasing winds as Storm Franklin arrives.

Traffic is diverted via one of the two Dartford tunnels. National Highways are warning of delays up to an hour.

The Blackwall tunnel approach is also slow going northbound in Greenwich.

Weakened trees and structures also mean that Southeastern have announced reduced rail services until at least 4pm tomorrow and are warning people not to travel.

The storm has led to an amber weather alert from the met office and follow shortly after Storm Eunice. Winds are not expected to as strong though already weakened structures are at risk.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
