Dartford crossing closure brings gridlock including Greenwich

A four hour closure of one of the Dartford tunnels this morning has led to long queues across Dartford, the M25, Woolwich and Greenwich.

A lorry break down and spillage caused closure, and one tunnel has only just reopened.

Traffic queues are backed up for miles on the m25. The a2 and a102 are backed up from Greenwich to near Kidbrooke.

Local traffic is also very slow in Greenwich due to knock-on effects, as is Woolwich around the ferry.

Many bus routes are delayed both in south east London and in Dartford.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
