Fire hits Plumstead High Street

Plumstead High Street has been closed after a fire.

The blaze appears to have begun in the block housing shops including Poundland.

Numerous emergency services are on scene and buses are on diversion.

Transport for London state:

“PLUMSTEAD HIGH STREET: Buses are on diversion between Plumstead Station and Basildon Road via Griffin Road, Waverley Crescent, Warwick Terrace, Plumstead Common Road, Kings Highway and Wickham Lane due to a building fire.

Buses towards Erith or Abbey Wood will miss stops from Lakedale Road to Plumstead Corner/Church Manorway.

Buses towards Woolwich will miss stops from Plumstead Corner/Rockmount Road to Lakedale Road.”

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
