Fires across Dartford as A2 closed

A large number of fires have broken out across the Dartford area as recorded temperatures top 40c for the first time.

One fire is up to the edge of the A2 and the A2 slip road. There are queues building in the eastbound direction for some miles as fire spread to the edge of the road.

Others are threatening housing, with blazes on Dartford Heath, Crayford and areas the the Bridge development north of Dartford town centre.

In London the London Fire Brigade have just declared a major incident due to the number of fires.

Temperatures are expected to stay extremely high across the area for the rest of today.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
