Our officers attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the air ambulance.
Two passengers, a man and a woman in their 20s, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.
Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit is carrying out enquiries and officers are appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or has relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
In particular, investigators would like to speak to anybody who saw the vehicle travelling along the coastbound carriageway of the A2 from #Bexley towards Dartford Heath prior to the collision.”
Correct terminology in text but not in headline, it’s an RTI John not a RTA. Such incidents are rarely ‘accidents’ and not classed as such by emergency services. An ‘accident’ is suggestive of an event that is random and could not have been prevented. Nearly all road and work injuries, fatalities and illnesses are preventable hence classed as incidents first off. Should road safety be the prime consideration when driving, most incidents could indeed be termed ‘accidents’, but most are caused by poor standard or reckless or dangerous driving.(sadly)
