Major Greenwich roadworks set to commence: Bus diversions coming

Roadworks are set to begin this week in Greenwich at Blackwall Lane which could see disruption in the area.

Bus routes 108, 188 and 422 will be diverted with TfL warning about the potential of longer gaps between buses. Bus diversions will begin on Saturday 28th.

TfL state its gas works while other sources state Thames Water are behind the closure.

The Blackwall Lane southbound will be closed from the Peninsula including the section below the A102 flyover approaching the Blackwall Tunnel.

Works are expected to take around two weeks to complete.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • If it’s TW John it’s likely part of the new water main works leading to the peninsula. Thry told us two weeks originally in Old Woolwich Road. Thry’re still here some 8 months on!! Hope yours won’t be the same Blackwall residents. It’s been a nightmare.
