Burst water main makes a splash in Charlton

A burst water main in Charlton has caused a spectacle today.

Thames Water’s maintenance will gain be asked about, though the company have just submitted an application for major upgrade works to the areas water supply from 2024.

Planned route of new pipeline

The company plan a new pipeline running from Woolwich to Lewisham via Charlton (though not lower Charlton) and Blackheath.

Some way from the leak today granted.

Expect roadworks to fix this which will impact traffic and bus routes through the area.

  • Thames Water needs to get on top off all the water leaks some of the smaller leaks often leak for weeks. However, at least Thames Water are now investing in new pipelines as needed to cope with an ever growing population in London.
