Deptford 209-home project moves towards completion

The majority of homes on a Deptford development on Frankham Street and nearing completion with residents set to move in during 2023.

Plans for 209 homes were approved back in October 2017 with disputes over a community garden and the use of bailiffs by Lewisham council.

Render of project

The development – now branded Frankham Walk – is located on a former primary school site. Tidemill school moved to a nearby site some years ago.

It’s a mainly car-free plot given excellent transport and amenities in the area, with 51 homes for private sale, 117 for London Affordable Rent and 41 Shared Ownership.

Deptford station rebuilt, homes constructed, services cut

Though those transport links have recently taken a turn for the worse. The station is less than a five minute walk to Deptford station which saw service cuts in December 2022. Southeastern reduced their services through Deptford from four to two per hour, with two Thameslink trains also running. Remaining services are bunched together leaving uneven gaps between trains and a less frequent services than seen for many years

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks
