Eltham arcade to see renovation work

An application has been submitted to renovate Eltham Arcade off the High Street.

Last year the structure was added to the borough’s Heritage List.

Work now proposed includes “Repairs to canopy over rear entrance to arcade and replacement of existing corrugated roof sheets with slate tiles”.

High Street frontage

Plans before Greenwich Council state that the “existing corrugated roofing to be checked for the presence of asbestos prior to removal and removed. In their place will be “Rivendale tiles on new roof mebrane on 25x32mm softwood treated timber battens”.

  • The new roof will improve the Eltham Arcades for both business owners and shoppers. I would like to see the Arcade brought back to its full potential. An ideal location for independent businesses in Eltham..
