New Woolwich café and events space House of Denna opens beside the Thames

A new operator has taken on the former Con Gusto space at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich beside the Thames Clipper pier.

House of Denna is a café and events space that will offer a number of events in coming weeks and months.

New operator Denna states: “I have a Sip and Paint on Friday hosted by Sarah Harper from Harpers Bizarre Art – a Plumstead resident.

“Most of the events will be run by local creatives (as Woolwich is such a hub of amazing artists). My website will be up and running soon.

Outside seating

“In the meantime you can follow @houseofdenna on Facebook and Insta to keep up to date with the events.”

Wine tasting sessions are also planned.

It’s great to see someone take on the space so soon after Con Gusto sadly closed, and it’s a lovely place both inside and out for a drink and bite to eat.

They’re also helping to support local charity WSUP with free Drury sponsored barista training.

It’s also close to Woolwich Works so possible to make a day and night of being in the area, located just a short stroll from the Elizabeth line station.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
